Fees, cancellations, and unfinished rounds
This page applies to professional reading and related services quoted by Web Work Base. We do not sell physical goods, software licences, or course seats.
Eligibility
Refunds are available according to the stage of work, not according to whether you later appoint a particular candidate. Dissatisfaction with who a panel hires is not grounds for a refund of a completed briefing.
Timeframe to ask
Write to hello@webworkbase.digital within fourteen days of the event you are concerned about (cancellation, missed sitting, or alleged incomplete briefing). Requests after that window are considered only where Australian Consumer Law requires it.
Full refund
You receive a full refund of money paid if we have not started the reading, sitting, or wording work, and you cancel at least five working days before a reserved sitting date or before a reading window begins. “Started” means we have opened applicant files, begun scoring, or issued a first wording draft.
Partial refund
If work has started but the deliverable is not yet issued, we invoice for hours already spent at the quoted rate and refund the remainder of the deposit. If a panel sitting is shortened because the convenor ends it early, the booked window remains payable unless we caused the interruption.
Non-refundable items
- Deposits on sittings cancelled with fewer than five working days’ notice, except where we cancel or where a major failure under Australian Consumer Law applies
- Time already spent reading applications before cancellation
- Additional comment rounds on vacancy wording that you requested and we delivered
Process
Send the engagement reference, the vacancy title, and the reason. We confirm the stage of work within five working days and state any refund amount. Refunds, when due, are paid to the original payment method within ten working days of that confirmation.
Processing time and method
Bank and card refunds usually appear within ten working days after we initiate them. We do not refund in cash at the North Terrace reception.
Cancellations and rescheduling
You may reschedule a panel sitting once without fee if you give at least five working days’ notice. Later changes may be charged as a new sitting if we cannot fill the reserved window. File-review calendars can be shifted by mutual agreement before marking begins.
Deposits
Deposits hold a reading window or a sitting date. They are applied to the final invoice. They are not a separate product.
No-shows
If a panel does not attend a booked sitting and has not cancelled, the sitting fee is payable. We will wait thirty minutes past the start time at the agreed location before treating the sitting as a no-show.
Work already started
Once files are opened, you are buying professional time. Stopping the round does not unwind hours already spent. We can, on request, return unread files and provide a partial note for files already scored, invoiced accordingly.
Purchased materials
We rarely purchase materials for a round. If you ask us to print large paper packs, printing costs already incurred are not refundable.
Exceptions
Australian Consumer Law rights are not excluded. If a briefing is not of acceptable professional quality, we will revise it or refund an amount reflecting the failure. We do not refund because an applicant later withdraws or because a role is cancelled after the briefing was delivered in good order.
