Workforce application analytics
The written application still decides who enters the room
Web Work Base sits with the files that arrive for a vacancy — cover letters, statements against criteria, CVs — and reads them against the position description your organisation already published. The work ends in a briefing the hiring panel can use before interviews begin.
How a vacancy reaches this desk
1. The pack
You send the advertisement, position description, key selection criteria, and every written application exactly as submitted. We do not tidy a candidate’s file or invent missing evidence.
2. The reading
Each application is scored against the published criteria. Strengths, gaps, and contradictions are noted in plain language a panel can defend in a fairness review.
3. The briefing
You receive a ranked shortlist note. A panel sitting can follow if the convenor wants the scores walked through before interviews are scheduled.

Panel briefing sitting
A half-day or full-day sitting with the hiring panel to walk through the scored applications, settle borderline files, and prepare interview questions from the written evidence.
Vacancy and criteria wording
Drafting and tightening of position descriptions and key selection criteria so applicants can answer them — and so a later reading can compare like with like.
High-volume round reading
Coordinated reading of large applicant fields — seasonal hiring, multi-site vacancies, or high-response roles — with batch scoring and a consolidated panel briefing.
From a recent panel
More accounts“We had forty-one statements against six criteria for a clinical coordinator role. Web Work Base returned a briefing that named the six applicants who actually answered the criteria, and the twelve who restated the duty list. Our panel argued less and interviewed better.”

How many criteria a statement can honestly carry
Nine overlapping criteria do not buy more fairness. They buy repetition, exhausted candidates, and a panel that stops distinguishing marks.

When the award classification and the advertisement disagree
If the award level says one kind of work and the advertisement sells another, applications scatter — and scores become arguments.

A cover letter that restates the CV twice
Cover letters rarely rescue a statement that never meets the criteria. They can, however, waste a panel’s first ten minutes.

Enquiries receive a reply within two working days. A file review begins only when the vacancy pack is complete — advertisement, position description, criteria, and the applications themselves.
